All students are required to have taken at least Fundamentals of Oils. This is an advanced painting course, the colour palette you can use will depend on what courses you have previously taken at Katz Atelier.
All materials are supplied and included in costs in Katz Atelier classes.
In this course we learn to paint a multitude of Fantasy Character Portraits by combining references. Choose from a selection of ideas supplied or come up with your own. Concept examples are, Orc Paladin, Zombie Pirate, Dryad, Wolfman, Banshee and so on. Note that these are to be sentient characters, using a human reference as a base, this is not a creature/monsters course.
Paintings will be Portrait or Bust. Open to fuller figure paintings on a case by case with each student
No toxic turpentine is used in classes, gamsol only.
This is an 8 week course. Each painting will be done over 2 classes.
